Our research on locomotor development examines how people acquire new forms of locomotion throughout the lifespan—how babies learn to crawl, how toddlers learn to walk, how older children learn to brachiate, and so on. We are especially interested in the specificity of learning: Does learning about an earlier developing skill transfer to a later developing skill?
